In a two run game the Skokie Wolfmen got by the San Diego Surf by the score of
7 to 5.

Tim Hudson(1-0) labored throughout the game but hung around to record a
victory. He gave up 9 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings. Joe Nathan pitched a
perfect ninth and was credited with his 1st save.

Jake Peavy(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5 and 1/3
innings of work. 'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game,
but I thought it was nothing.' Hudson said. 'I was lucky I got a win because
I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'

At Fenway Park, the San Diego fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Jake
Peavy(1-1) finally bested his Skokie opposite, Tim Hudson(1-1), by the score
of 2 to 1.

San Diego started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring one runner using 2 hits. Skokie had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.

Francisco Rodriguez earned the save, his 2nd. Hudson ended up with the loss.
He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks.

Obviously without his best stuff, Chien-Ming Wang(2-0) still hung on to pick
