In a thriller the Towaco Wolfpack staged a dramatic comeback then held on to
win over the Montreal Crows by a score of 5 to 4 at SAFECO Field.
Towaco scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs on 2
base hits. After an out was recorded, Casper Wells got things going when he
doubled. Jose Reyes came next and he was walked intentionally. Wilton Lopez
then let a pitch get away from him. Martin Prado followed next and he
singled. Justin Ruggiano got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.
Brett Myers, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 1st save.
The victory went to Jim Henderson(1-0) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Lopez(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. Kevin Gibson was all smiles
after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at bats, is a beautiful
feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there? You could have heard a
pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what makes baseball so
great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over 'til its over.
