Game 6 was....a do or die game for Newton. Newton had trouble with
Vogelsong before in Game 2, Newton needed this game to score
the type of runs they did in Games 4 and 5 to stay with Skokie
who loves their park and is a good one for their sluggers.

Well for Newton in the first inning, it didn't start off well
which could be a sign going down 1-2-3 but for Skokie again
they were alive as Pierre hit a single and Cabrera (on a hit and run)
doubles Pierre home - BB had enough of Arroyo and he takes
him out to bring in Stammen

Ethier lines out, but Beltre walks, 1st and 2nd, 1 out and then
Stammen gets Molina to line out but LaHair who has been
hitting lately all of Newton's pitching hits a double to bring
Cabrera and Beltre home (1-6 on his card) and Skokie agains
begins Game 6 with a 3-0 lead...

top of the 2nd only a HBP for Newton by Willingham and 3 Ks

bottom of the 2nd Ramirez doubles and with 2 outs Cabrera
doubles again 4-0 and Ethier hits (I believe his second HR of
the series) a two run shot and after 2 Skokie is up 6-0 but
wait, Newton came back in Game 5, could they do it
against Vogelsong.

Newton 1-2-3 in the 3rd

Newton top of the 4th, 1st and 2nd, 2 outs, no go

Newton 5th, 1-2-3 - can't get to Vogelsong

Bottom of the 5th, Molina and Beltran back to back homers
sticking into the sore more at Newton 8-0

Newton 6th 1-2-3

Skokie 6th, Teixiera Doubles, with one out 2 base error on Moss 9-0

bottom of the 7th Newton, finally loads the bases with 2 outs
singles by Belt, Willingham, Amarista, Oliver pitches Maxwell
PH and hits a two run double - 9-2 but Cargo strikes out to end the inning

bottom of the 7th, Skokie two walks, sac bunt, 2nd and 3rd, 1 out
not able to score

top of the 8th Newton, only a single by Moss, no runs

top of the 9th, Balfour in to Pitch for Skokie, Willingham flies out,
Jackson strikes out, Freese hits a home run 9-3 but Maxwell flies out

The Fans in Skokie go wild - they shout World Series, Skokie somehow,
has done it again, to return to their fourth World Series in 9 years

no one saw Skokie running, they had way too many holes
but they traded their youth for established veterans to support their team
Ramirez won one game this series with a key homer
Beltran had seveal key hits and homers
Balfour ... the team needed a solid closer

with 87 wins in the season only, Skokie returns to represent the
tough and competitive hitting based Clemente conference

trading and filling holes during mid season has led them back
can they do it again? or will we crown a new 1st time champion
Steve Adler and his amazing NJ Beatles ...

don't bother the Wolfman as he goes back into his den
to focus completely on the Beatles and find a way to over come
their superior pitching but then Skokie was able to win against
Strausburg and Gonzalez so who knows

its very rare we see a CBA win two years in a row - it is probably
one of the most difficult things to do -- of course Bob at Indy has
done it and won 3 championships - and Skokie has blocked Indy
the last 3 years from the playoffs being in his division - could this
be a reversal of the two years we went to the series in 2007 and
2008 and lost, now winning

with over 100 game season the odds maker have to vote
New Jersey the team to win but in the playoffs anything
can happen

who do you think will be our new CBA Champion

as always I wish to extend my gratitude to BB for a great series,
his sportsmanship and enthusiasm. It was amazing watch BB
manage his bombs and in Game 4 and 5 they did Bomb us.
It was an amazing experience and if any other members of the
CBA want to learn from the best, play Newton next year
in Netplay - they could be the team to beat

for now we will focus on keeping the trophy in Skokie,
we have a lot to prepare for as Adler's boys will be tough,
do they have a weakness somewhere?

hope you enjoyed the reporting of this amazing
series with Bruce Bundy - a great honor sir, a great honor

For Skokie our heroes

the relievers did a great job to shut Newton down
Vogelsong was our star - starter

for a hitting star - it really was a team effort
but Soriano, Beltran, Molina, and Ethier each had 2 homers in the series
so without our sluggers Skokie would have had a great deal of trouble
beating Newton with their fine hitting

after 10 games Skokie has hit 17 home runs, hitting .301 with 63
runs scored or averaging 6.3 runs per game

due to our 10 run game with Newton, our era went from under 3
to 3.78 but 8 out of the 10 games we have held teams to 3 runs
or less

I am surprised to see our team hitting more home runs then
we did last year at this point in the playoffs

the Beatles park favors LH power hitters which we have some
and also we will not have our DH which is always a powerful
hitting position for Skokie in possibly 4 of the 7 games, this
might be New Jersey's greatest advantage

in the series last year at San Diego which really had a pitcher's
park we had some trouble scoring

anyway Place your Bets, will the Wolfman do it again
or is it the year of the Beatles and Steve Adler

in the CBA we never know what will happen
