Joe Randa hit a grand slam at US Cellular Field as the Ottawa Otters beat the
Indiana RedBirds by the count of 14 to 11.

Randa provided much of the offense. He launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 1st
of the season) in the 1st inning and doubled in the 7th inning. Indiana
threatened in the 9th but Ottawa was able to put down the rally.

John Lackey(1-0) allowed 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Kameron Loe was credited with his 1st save. Roy Oswalt(0-1) took
the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6 innings of work.

Bob Fidler was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's

In a two run game the Indiana RedBirds got by the Ottawa Otters in 11 innings
by the score of 8 to 6.

The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings. Indiana came out on top
in the 11th inning. Trot Nixon led off and keyed the rally when he doubled.
Toby Hall stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
After another out, Grady Sizemore stepped up to the plate and he cleared the
fences for a two-run home run (his 1st of the season) giving Indiana the win
much to the delight of the home town crowd. Indiana had 11 hits for the
afternoon.

The win went to Jason Isringhausen(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Kameron Loe(0-1) was the loser in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 2 hits in 1
and 2/3 innings.

Ottawa took the lead off Scott Kazmir in the first inning with 2 runs using 4
hits. Adam Kennedy started the inning off right when he banged out a single.
After an out was recorded, David Ortiz came to the plate and lashed a
single. Vladimir Guerrero then lined a base-hit scoring a run. Olmedo Saenz
came up and he doubled scoring the final run of the inning. That was all the
offense they were to need. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as
neither team was able to score again.

John Lackey went the distance and Adam Kennedy had 4 hits and 6 RBI as the
Ottawa Otters outscored the Indiana RedBirds 12 to 4.

Kennedy enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter
innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He banged out a single in the
1st inning, doubled plating three runs in the 2nd inning, doubled plating all
three baserunners in the 3rd inning and doubled in the 7th inning. Ottawa
banged out 16 on the afternoon.

Lackey(2-0) allowed 4 runs on the game. Roy Oswalt(0-2) took the loss. He
allowed 12 hits and 3 walks in 3 innings. 'Some days it just all comes
together, and this was one of them' Kennedy said. 'I've been seeing the ball
pretty well lately.'

Jon Garland tossed a complete game as the Indiana RedBirds outscored the
Ottawa Otters 8 to 3.

Indiana came up with 5 runs in the 7th inning with the help of 6 hits. The
key offensive moment was provided by Alex Rodriguez who quieted the crowd
when he belted a three-run homer (his 2nd of the season). Indiana totaled 13
on the night.

The win went to Garland(1-0) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Brandon Webb(0-1)
was given the loss. He gave up 8 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings of work.

Albert Pujols blasted 2 homeruns as the Indiana RedBirds beat the Ottawa
Otters by a score of 18 to 9.

Pujols enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter
innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He lost the ball over the
fence for three runs in the 3rd inning and emptied the bases with a Grand
Slam homerun (his 3rd of the season) in the 7th inning. Indiana bats were
very productive in the 7th inning with 10 runs on 8 hits. Due to a poorly
pitched ballgame, scoring in 6 different innings was still not enough for
Ottawa to come away with the victory.

The victory went to Juan Padilla(1-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Aaron Cook(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and
1/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 walks.

Rodriguez provided much of the offense. He slapped a one-base hit resulting
in a run in the 1st inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 3rd inning and
delivered a solo blast (his 5th of the season) in the 7th inning. Indiana
managed 11 in their victory.

Roy Oswalt(1-2) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. John
Lackey(2-1) was the loser. Despite losing, he struckout 9 Indiana batters in
6 innings.
