Indiana Redbirds LP 4 games to 2

in 13th Annual CBA Classic.

The Indiana Red Birds cap off a remarkable comeback season to defeat the
Longue-Pointe Loggers in the CBA 2009 World Series 4 games to 2.  Their
unprecedented second consecutive Championship crown came as the result of
an 8-5 victory highlighted by an 8th inning home run by Alex Rodriguez.

Albert Pujols after hitting his second home run in
Game 1 of the 2009 World Series between the Red Birds
and the Loggers at Molson Yards.  Indiana Redbirds win 5 to 3.

Indiana had a 40-14 to finish in a tie for the Wild Card, then a 1game playoff to get into the playoffs. Then we are are Road team in each series and win both games on the road to start out and then win 2 of 3 at home to get to the World Series. Then we come up against Longue Pointe team that has a great Starting Pitching Staff and we win both games again on the road and won the first game at home to take a demanding 3-0 lead in the series. But Longue Pointe wasn't going down without a fight and win game 4 6-5 with Indiana having the tying run on and Albert at the plate with 2 outs in the 9th. Then CC just shuts the Red Birds down for a 5-0 victory to force game 6. Ichrio leads off the bottom of the 1st with a HR and Longue Pointe was on the way again but the game got tied when Linceumn threw back to back wild pitches to let Ruiz to score and then again it was tied at 2-2 and Indiana took a 6-2 lead, but Kazmir got tired once again in the 5th with 2 outs but Darren Oliver came in to shut door and went on to pitch a couple more innings then gave up 3 runs to make it 6-5. It was a nail biter for sure as the Loggers kept threatening and a key spot in the game was when Varitek came into PH for his fellow catcher mate Laird against Oliver. D J Carrasco was called in from the pen and got him out. With 1 out in the bottom of the 8th Billy Wagner came in for 1 2/3 inning save try and he got the 2 guys out in the 8th. Then in the top of the 9th with a runner on A-Rod gives some insurance with a 2 run HR and Wagner shuts it down in the bottom of the inning.
